WhatsApp continues to add new privacy layers for chats, photos and even videos. The messaging app is now offering its advanced chat privacy tool that promises to block people from exporting your content shared in groups or with individuals. 

The platform has chat lock and disappearing messages so that your chats are secure from bad actors. However, the new tool promises even stronger safety for your chats or photos so that it does not leave the messaging app.

WhatsApp says, “This new setting available in both chats and groups helps prevent others from taking content outside of WhatsApp for when you may want extra privacy." The messaging app is gradually rolling out the feature for all mobile users and it confirms the new tool is not enabled by default, you can do that from the chat settings. Once you do that, “you can block others from exporting chats, auto-downloading media to their phone, and using messages for AI features," the platform explains.

As the feature explains, WhatsApp will now stop people from auto-downloading media files or copy the chats to use them for AI features on the messaging app. The person trying to copy the file will see a pop-up box which tells them the contact has enabled advanced chat privacy for the messages on the account.
