Elon Musk’s Grok AI Now Gets ‘Vision Abilities’ And Real-Time Voice Mode: What Is It And How It Works

Grok AI chatbot continues to become more effective as the days go and the latest addition to the platform is Grok Vision which basically uses your phone’s camera to see and answer queries based on what it can see. xAI, the Elon Musk-owned company taking on OpenAI and Google AI, is building Grok into a resourceful AI tool which now also supports multilingual audio and real-time search in voice mode. 

You might be thinking that ChatGPT 4o and Gemini AI already have these features, but their rival Grok AI clearly doesn’t want to fall behind in the AI race. 

Grok AI Vision: How It Works 

The first thing you should know is that Grok Vision works on iOS and Android devices using the Grok app which sees itself as an AI assistant. xAI says the new Vision and real-time search is available for all users, including those on the SuperGrok plan using their Android phones. 

As the name suggests, Grok AI gets a vision that can not only analyse images and video but also do it in real-time like the Gemini Live screen feature which is free for Android users. You can even upload a photo to Grok AI and seek inputs based on your needs, which could range from name of the product, to recommending similar products available on the internet. The new feature could help you solve complex problems just by sharing its photo and you can feed the prompt to get resolved. 

The real-time search in voice mode also feels like a natural progression for Grok and again, nothing new in terms of how it works, as ChatGPT and Gemini already offer them. The support for multilingual audio will definitely help the AI chatbot understand people better, especially those who like talking in Hinglish, which is a mix of Hindi and English, very common with users in India. 

Grok is also now capable of storing your queries like a history tab that Gemini and ChatGPT users also get. Having this support allows you to personalise the AI chatbot based on your preferences and past chats, that makes continuing the session easier at a later time.

You even get the Grok Studio that can help you collaborate on documents, write an essay or even help with coding. The platform will let you access the content in a separate window which makes it easy to collaborate with the AI chatbot.
