Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 Launch Confirmed For This Month, Comes With Leica Cameras

Xiaomi is bringing the next-gen Mix Flip 2 model in China this month and the new model will feature a Leica camera system. The company has not shared a launch date for the flip phone but a new product teaser with “see you this month" suggests the official unveiling of the Mix Flip 2 is not far away.

Xiaomi is likely to power the device with the new Snapdragon 8 flagship chipset, which promises faster processing speeds and better overall efficiency for the device. We should also expect the device to come with a HyperOS version out of the box, something that the product teaser also hints at.

Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 Launch News: More Premium Upgrades

While the teaser does not show us the device or any part of its design, we can expect the form factor to be similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 version. As mentioned by tipster Digital Chat Station previously, the Mix Flip 2 could feature a 6.85-inch LTPO OLED inner display with a 1.5K resolution. As for the cover screen, it is expected to come with a 4.01-inch 1.5K flexible AMOLED panel.

The biggest upgrade could be on the imaging front, with a Leica-powered dual rear camera setup expected to be housed within a module. The upcoming model is said to offer a 50MP primary sensor with a 1/1.5-inch sensor and a 50MP 1/2.76-inch ultra-wide angle lens. This means the telephoto lens would be replaced by an Ultra-Wide angle sensor in the Mix Flip 2.

Xiaomi is likely to offer IPX8 rating for the new Mix model, and has support for a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security. The Mix Flip 2 is said to support wireless charging, unlike its predecessor. The other big talking about could be the rumoured 5,100mAh battery packed inside the device with support for 67W fast-charging out of the box.

The Mix Flip 2 launch price remains unclear. However, its predecessor was first unveiled in China at CNY 6,499 (Rs 77,600 approx) for the single 12GB+512GB variant which could be the range for the Mix Flip 2 launch price as well.

Xiaomi has become more proactive with its premium devices in India but even then the chances of the Mix Flip 2 (or any foldable) launching in the country are very low.
