iPhone Foldable Launch From Apple Once Again Tipped For Next Year: What More We Know
Apple’s big AI delays mean all focus now shifts to the company entering the foldable segment with its first iPhone model expected in late 2026. According to reports, Apple’s first foldable is said to be a book-style folding device, similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and might have a 12-inch inner screen with two rear cameras.
In terms of dimensions, it could come with 9.2mm in thickness when folded and 4.6mm when unfolded, which makes it notably slimmer than the Galaxy Z Fold 6 even the Fold 5.
And now Ming-Chi Kuo, analyst claims Apple has a clear roadmap for its foldable device and how it plans to go about its production as well as availability on shelves.

The analyst says Apple will depend on Samsung Display to source the foldable screen for its iPhones. The company is going to use Foxconn to make the device which will start working on the product from Q3 2024 or early 2026 before mass production later in the year.
This also suggests Apple could be lining up the iPhone foldable with the iPhone 18 series next year. The company is hoping to ship around 15 million to 20 million units which is an ambitious figure for a pricey product.
Samsung is rumoured to be developing the screen exclusively for Apple’s first foldable smartphone with UTG Lens technology. It’s most likely a variant of the ultra-thin glass (UTG) that Samsung utilises in its bendable goods.
Apple’s foldable is tipped to come with an aluminium alloy middle frame and a dual rear camera setup comprising a main camera and an ultra-wide angle sensor. As for the battery, it is expected to pack a 5,000 mAh battery, promising longer usage.
The company is yet to talk about its foldable plans, as it currently looks to fix the issues facing its AI ecosystem. Siri AI has been delayed till 2026 and a new report claims Apple will have it ready with the iOS 26.4 update that should be rolling out around March-April next year.
