Sony PS5 Digital Edition Price In India Increased: What You Have To Pay Now

Sony PlayStation 5 Digital Edition prices in India are finally being revised and they now cost more in the country like most regions. Sony had hiked the PS5 prices in Australia, parts of Europe and New Zealand.

The company introduced the hike of at least 10%, saying it was a “tough decision" amid the “backdrop of a challenging economic environment, including high inflation and fluctuating exchange rates."

India was missing from the list of countries getting the new prices. But now, if you have been biding time to pick up the PS5 Digital version, it is going to cost you more in the country as well. The details about the PS5 price hike come via High Chaos Run that has a credible record of sharing gaming-centric updates for the Indian market.

Sony PS5 Digital Edition Price In India Hiked: But How Much?

The tipster says the Sony PS5 Digital Edition has got a Rs 5,000 price hike in India, which means you now have to pay Rs 49,990 instead of the earlier price tag of Rs 44,990 for the gaming console. However, it seems the bundled edition of the PS5 Digital version still costs the same.

The disc version of the PS5 does not see any change in the price for the Indian market, and you can get it for Rs 54,990. Sony has not officially shared the new PS5 Digital Edition prices in India but we expect those changes to reflect across platforms soon.

Sony has seen big success with the PlayStation 5 series consoles with millions picking up the device. And the company is already starting with the development of the PS6 which has brought concerns about the shelf life of the PS 5 model and how long the company will sell the version in the market.

The brand does not intend to phase out the older version right away and give people some time to grab a unit, probably for a better deal than usual.
