Slack Outage Affects Thousands Of Users, Not Able To Attend Important Work Meetings

Slack meetings took a big hit on Wednesday as thousands were unable to use the workplace messaging platform for important meetings.

Popular outage tracker Downdetector reports over 3,000 users facing issues and not being able to use the platform for more than a few hours. The outage was finally fixed later on Wednesday evening, and the company informed that it is investigating reports of trouble connecting or loading Slack.

Later on, Slack further explained that the outage was caused by, “a variety of API endpoints, sending (and) receiving messages, and some threads loading." The Slack status website also shared the update on the outage that seems to have affected Slack users in the US, parts of Europe and and the UK.

Most of them complained about issues with accessing the app/website for Slack for many hours. We did not come across any Slack outage issue faced by users in India and most regions where Slack is available.

The company has eventually fixed most of the issues, as of late Wednesday evening but Slack is aware that some of the tools are still not available, and it promises to fix them at the earliest. The company has also apologised for the inconvenience caused by the outage. The status tracker has informed Slack users to clear their cache from the Slack desktop app section to get the meeting platform running normally with all the features back online.
