Tinder U Comes To India For College Students: What Is It And How It Works

Tinder U has now come to the Indian market as the dating platform looks to expand its user base in the country and offer them a safe experience on the app. Tinder has launched Tinder U in India is exclusive in-app feature designed specifically for college and university students.
This new addition helps students connect with like-minded individuals for dating, friendship or even professional networking, all based on shared interests. Tinder says students can verify their profiles using their college email and other credentials.
Tinder U In India: What Is It And How It Works
Tinder U works through the main app but to access this feature you must be between 18 and 24 years old and enrolled in an accredited, not-for-profit institution that offers traditional, in-person learning. Additionally, a valid student email address is required for verification.
How To Use Tinder U
– Launch the Tinder app and tap on your Profile icon
– Select Edit Info to update your details
– Find the School or College section and add your institution’s name
– Click on Apply for Tinder U/Tinder Uni
– Provide your student email address and complete the verification.
After verifying the Tinder U account, you can customise your profile to better connect with fellow students. You can add your graduation year to indicate when you'll be completing your studies, list your course to highlight shared academic interests, and mention any clubs, societies, or organizations you're involved in to showcase your extracurricular activities.
A recent OnePoll survey found that 57 percent of young adults in India (ages 18-25) have formed relationships through dating apps. Among them, 67 percent have dated someone they met online, while 55 percent reported making new friends via these platforms. When asked about common ways to meet new people, 45 percent cited dating apps, followed by 34 percent who connected with others at work or in college/university.
