iPhone 17 Once Again Tipped To Get This ‘Pro’ Grade Update This Year: What It Means

iPhone 17 launch is already trending hot on the internet and people are eager to find out more about the upcoming models even though Apple hasn’t confirmed the names. The iPhone 16 launch was highly anticipated as well, especially for the big AI update but we’re yet to see that materialise.
So, it is understandable that all eyes have moved to the next iPhone version that will be announced later this year. And the good news is that most rumours suggest Apple could offer new upgrades for the base iPhone 17 model which should make it appealing for more people.
The ‘Pro Upgrade Coming To iPhone 17 In 2025
Apple has gradually introduced ‘Pro-exclusive’ features to the base models. First we saw the dynamic island come to the non-Pro models, and last year the camera control was offered on all the four variants. This year we are most likely going to see the ProMotion display technology passed on to the iPhone 17 and 17 Plus models.
This means you will finally get features like 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and always-on display on the regular models. Having an LTPO OLED panel will give these iPhone models the same feature as the Pro versions without costing that much.
The ProMotion displays on the iPhone made its debut with the 13 Pro models, and was widely expected to be part of the full iPhone 16 lineup, which didn’t turn out to be true. It is high time that Apple makes the feature available across its lineup, especially since you have Android phones costing as low as Rs 20,000 offering this display tech for a few years now.
That’s not all, Apple could have another big upgrade in store for all the iPhone 17 launch models in the form of a new 24MP selfie camera that many fanboys have been crying about for years. About time the company heard their pleas and let them take high-quality selfies or groupfies.
Will these rumoured changes bring the obvious price hike for the iPhone 17 and 17 Plus models? The iPhone 16E launch price earlier this year has raised that feeling and we’ll be happy to be proven wrong.
