Elon Musk Confirms Grok AI Chatbot Now Available For Telegram Users: Here’s How It Works

Elon Musk is taking his Grok AI chatbot to third-party platforms now and the first one to get access to the AI tool is Telegram. The secure messaging app has been left behind by WhatsApp which has relied on Meta for new AI features and now Telegram is ready to entice people with its own AI support. Grok confirmed the update via a post on X, which is also owned by Musk.

Grok AI On Telegram: What It Offers

Grok AI will be available in the form of an official bot on Telegram that you can easily search for on the app and start chatting.

If you want to try out Grok AI on the messaging app you will need to subscribe to the Telegram Premium version, and without that the AI chatbot (and its bot) will not be compatible for the free Telegram users. For people in India, Telegram Premium is available at Rs 179 per month, while you can also pay Rs 2,399 for one year of Premium subscription.

So, what do you get to use on Grok AI with Premium on the messaging app? Grok says you can use the basic AI features like image generation using text prompt, queries and more are available.

However, if you want more advanced AI features like Think and DeepSearch, you will need to start using the standalone Grok app available on multiple platforms or X too. Telegram has a clear warning that you might stumble across many fake Grok AI bots, so be cautious.

Telegram has talked about crossing 1 billion users earlier this week, and its founder, Pavel Durov took a dig on WhatsApp, calling it a cheap and watered down version of his own platform with more billions in their kitty. Grok AI itself has got new abilities this week. You now get DeeperSearch and image editing features on the AI chatbot from the Elon Musk-owned AI startup.
